Personally I think that there is something that Hunter is not telling us. I find it difficult to believe that he would change his entire mindset because of one bad interview.

Hunter strikes me as a fairly weak man, to put it bluntly. He's gotten very emotional from the Linder/Giles assault, and he's crumpling.
