Bauchi State in northern Nigeria has banned co-education at all junior and senior schools

The bill listed a number of reasons including the need to fight teenage pregnancies and poor performance. Bauchi MP Aminu Tukur said that teenagers especially had difficulty controlling their sexual urges.

So what's your opinion on that, good or bad?

I went to a private single-sex high school for awhile followed by a public co-ed one. My experience was that at the all-boys high school there was a lot of "dirty" talk that boys wouldnt have been able to get away with if girls were around. This, despite the fact that it was a Christian school that took itself pretty seriously. So I dont know if I believe the idea that separating boys and girls takes the boys' minds off of sex.

If they felt the need to separate the children then it was obviously good. I just felt it odd that they had to go to such extreme measures.
